Madrid: The Capital of Creativity to boost opportunities for the Audiovisual Sector
Madrid is committed to leading innovation and attracting talent within the dynamic audiovisual landscape. To realize this purpose, the City Council—through the General Coordination of the Mayor's Office—has set a clear objective: to establish the city as the epicenter of audiovisual excellence in Europe.
This commitment encompasses strategic actions, including the development of targeted funding programs for film production, promotion, and distribution; the support of specialized training initiatives for emerging creators and talent; and the search of high-level collaborative alliances with institutions such as the Academia de Cine (Residencias) and AMA (Ventana CineMad), as well as international organizations like Torino Film Lab, CARTOON, Europeans Writers Club and OFICINA MEDIA. These partnerships position Madrid prominently on the global audiovisual map. Additionally, Madrid supports events that showcase professional groups within the audiovisual sector, including the Yvonne Blake Awards for costume design professionals.
Furthermore, one of Madrid's significant achievements is the establishment of the Madrid Audiovisual Cluster, a strategic platform essential for enhancing the growth and competitiveness of the film industry. Madrid serves as a stunning outdoor stage, attracting large-scale productions that stimulate the economy and exhibit our cultural heritage worldwide.
The screens are vital allies in strengthening the city’s brand and image, drawing visitors, talent, businesses, and opportunities for all.
