A group of bandoleros escape from jail after being betrayed and reported by the landlord they served. Wanted by the police, civil guards and bounty hunters, but supported by some smugglers, horse traders and arms dealers, they manage to rob the train that brings the payroll for the workers at a mining site.
Newly armed, they plan to fight his former employer’s army. Meanwhile, the landlord puts a price on their heads, but a young captain of the Civil Guard sent from Madrid to capture the escapees suspects the true criminal nature of the landlord´s influence over the territory. Gang leader is captured but the captain grants him three days of grace to confront their common enemy.
