Xbo Films has been based in Toulouse since 2003 and has two studios: La Ménagerie specialises in stop motion and Les Affranchis specialises in 2D animation. The company's productions have been shown at numerous festivals, including Florence Miailhe's Butterfly, which was nominated for an Oscar, and Cynthia Calvi's Gigi, which was nominated for a César. Another notable production is Natalia León's Como si la tierra se las hubiera tragado, which won the Jury Prize at Sundance in 2025.
Following The Crossing by Florence Miailhe in 2021, several short films and TV specials have been released in cinemas: Eric Montchaud's A pebble in my shoe, Sonia Gerbeaud's The Boy and the Elephant, Julie Rembauville and Nicolas Bianco-Levrin's Marcel, Santa Claus, and Myriam Schott and Linda Yi's Zoobox.
Nikita Fraysse's paper cut-out series Tales of Oc is available on France TV, as will the series currently in production, School Monitors, by Marie-Pierre Hauwelle and Gildas Rigo. Coming soon to Canal+ is the TV special The Zzli Brothers by Julie Rembauville and Nicolas Bianco-Levrin, and to Arte is the series Welcome to Happycracy by Laurène Fernandes.
