VIDEO FORMATS

  • Frame rate: 25 frames per second is required to ensure the best possible quality.
  • Frame size: HD 1920 x 1080 (16:9)
  • Codec video: Apple ProRes 422 (or H.264 com­pres­sion in full HD)
  • All files with stereo audio

Impor­tant: it’s not pos­si­ble to have a DCP either 3D stereo­scop­ic.

SUPPORT

  • You will need to bring YOUR OWN COM­PUT­ER. Take your DVI- or HDMI- Adapter with you if you use an Ultra­book, tablet PC or iPad, that has no stan­dard HDMI, or DVI connector.
  • Your com­put­er or tablet needs a USB‑A sock­et OR audio-jack 3,5 mm to grab the audio signal.
  • The Car­toon Movie tech­ni­cians will NOT down­load any pre­sen­ta­tion files from the Inter­net or ftp.
  • Always save your pre­sen­ta­tion on your com­put­er AND on a USB stick as a back-up

LANGUAGE

Your presentation can be conducted in one of these languages: English, French, Italian or Spanish.
Cartoon provides a live translation.

IMPOR­TANT INSTRUC­TIONS – PLEASE READ

Participants on site meet in the restaurant for breakfast (“Croissant Show”) and after lunch (“Coffee Show”) to watch in a row on a giant screen the trailers of the projects to be presented that morning or afternoon.
Projects’ trailers will also be displayed in CARTOON's mobile app.

DURATION

  • Projects in concept: 30 to 45 seconds (maximum)
  • Projects in development: 30 seconds to 1 minute (maximum)
  • Films in production: 1 minute (maximum)
  • Films in sneak preview: 1 minute (maximum)

CONTENT

An attractive and catchy presentation of your project, showing its «essence» (a teaser or a nice extract of the pilot film – if it exists / short scenes representative of the film). This trailer will be screened during the Croissant & Coffee Shows in front of all participants!

IMPORTANT: Please edit the end of your trailer with a clean sound and image cut / fade out.

NO LOGO OR COMPANY NAME

Please, do not add any logo or company name at the beginning or the end of your trailer.

Your trailer will be edited with the other trailers for the Croissant & Coffee Shows screening and Cartoon will add the project title, company name and presentation room in the same way for all the projects.

NOTE ABOUT THE A.I. (ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE)

Please note that all use of an A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) must be clearly indicated in your trailer (copyright, mention).

1. Video track

  • Frame rate: 25 frames per second!!! (trailers with 24 fps will be normalized to 25 fps)
  • Frame size: HD 1920 x 1080 (16:9)
  • Codec video: Apple ProRes 422 (or H.264 / MPEG‑4 AVC @ 10−20.000 Kbps)

2. Sound track

  • Codec Audio: AAC-LC (low complexity)
  • All files with stereo audio
  • Any other format could have quality / compatibility problems when transcoding for the editing.

NO STEREOSCOPIC 3D / DCP SUPPORT

Please note that we don’t accept any trailer in stereoscopic 3D nor DCP support.

It is mandatory for NEW producers (companies that have never pitched at Cartoon Movie, Cartoon Forum, CartoonNext or Cartoon 360).

IMPOR­TANT INSTRUC­TIONS – PLEASE READ
  • We kindly remind you that it is not a technical rehearsal but a rehearsal for your speech and the content of your presentation.
  • Please be on time and keep to the 20 minutes (5 minutes to let people in and out of the room) allocated in order to be fair with the other producers rehearsing after you.
  • Producers with a presentation for a project in concept will have a 10 minutes rehearsal.
  • Please inform your co-producers, if any. Note that it does not replace the technical meeting.
  • We have tried as much as possible to organise your rehearsal in the same room as the one of your presentation. For those it was not possible to do so, we recommend you to visit "your room" before your official presentation.
