Cartoon Masters : Concept

For 20 years now, CARTOON has been organizing several times a year top-level quality training seminars for the European animation professionals: the Cartoon Masters. Designed by a team of experts, the Cartoon Masters are the only vocational seminars available for the animation community on a European level.

The programme content gives both a theoretical and practical approach (case studies) on the current issues faced by the industry, focusing on 3 areas:

• Cartoon Digital – the opportunities and challenges offered by the new technologies
• Cartoon Finance – how to find ways to diversify sources of financing and increase the revenues of animated TV series
• Cartoon Feature – all aspects relative to feature film, covering concept, development, production, marketing, distribution and exploitation

A fourth Master, Training for Trainers, is specially developed for European animation schools and universities (on invitation only).

The Cartoon Masters offer animation practitioners the opportunity to both learn and update their knowledge from key players in the industry in a relaxed atmosphere. They are open to European-based animation professionals, producers, studio directors, heads of animation companies, financiers, broadcasters and distributors. In 2009, more than 350 participants from all over Europe attended!

The Cartoon Masters also provide a very rich venue for networking and we are particularly pleased to see that some co-production projects presented at the Cartoon Forum were a result of joint partnerships initiated during the Cartoon Masters.
