François Deplanck is SVP Children Programmes and Channels for Canal+. He oversees children Programmes and Channels of the CANAL+ Group and manages kids networks Piwi, TéléTOON, TéléTOON Africa and handles CANAL+’s youth programmes on CANAL+, CANAL+ FAMILY and TPS STAR.

He holds a Business Degree from ESC Lille (France), a Master's Degree in Broadcast Communication from the Université de Valenciennes (France) and a Master's Degree (MS) in Television, Radio and Film from Syracuse University (New York, USA).

François Deplanck started his career at Communication Development as Marketing Manager of the cable operator (MSO) from 1987 to 1990.

From 1990 to 1994 he joined MTV EUROPE as Manager - Network Development Southern Europe.

He was then Head of Programmes-New Markets at TF1 from 1994 to 1996.

François joined TPS at launch in 1996 to start TéléTOON, the satellite platform’s first kids channel. As Managing Director of TPS Jeunesse, he then launched TeleTOON+1, EUREKA!, TéléTOON Africa and Piwi.

Until the merger between TPS and CANAL+, he was also in charge of TPS’s HD Programming as well as Corporate Relations with the CSA (French TV Authority).
