Toulouse is unique, Toulouse is multi-faceted. It is a city of air, birthplace of the Aéropostale, the Airbus, satellites and the Ariane rocket. It is a city of water, with the Garonne River and the Canal du Midi flowing through it. It is a city of history, marked by the Cathar resistance and the exile of the Spanish Republicans. It is a city of innovation, thanks to research on aeronautics, space, information technology and nanotechnologies.
Toulouse is a university centre with an international dimension, which can count on its scientific and technological clusters and on its 100,000 students and 12,000 researchers.

Resolutely future-oriented, Toulouse has not forgotten its assets, as a warm and friendly Southern city, which attract the thousands of new inhabitants who move there each year.
Culture and sport are intense and abundant, and spring up in different forms both in the city centre and in the neighbourhoods. For more than 100 years, the French rugby club Stade Toulousain unites generations and kindles the imagination. Each year, there are more than 3000 cultural events that welcome the inhabitants of Toulouse, as well as visitors who are more and more numerous to come and enjoy the fervour of our city.

Today, Toulouse has taken off to become a great European city, which combines the intelligence of its researchers, the talent of its artistic and economic creators, and the generosity of its youth. It's a city where the winds of solidarity, creativity and innovation blow.

As the largest region in France, even larger than several European countries, the Midi-Pyrénées region is decidedly one of the most diversified. When talking about it, we cannot help but mention the quality of life, which is visible everywhere: in the beauty and affluence of its heritage; in the harmony of its landscapes, the preservation of its wilderness; in the intensity of its cultural life. Its gastronomy has also got something to do with it.
Forward-looking, Midi-Pyrénées is a dynamic region with notably four clusters: "Agrimip-Innovation", dealing with agro-industries; "Cancer-Bio-Santé", for biotechnologies and health; the cluster "Eau", which evalutes and enhances water resources; and also "Aéronautique, Espace et Systèmes Embarques", whose excellence was recognized by the world cluster label. In the past, the Caravelle and the Concord were invented here. Today, it's the A380 and the latest generation aircraft.

It is true that this innovation is supported by training and research that is unique in Europe: as the 2nd university centre in France, the region has numerous colleges and more than 400 scientific laboratorie...
Finally, it is a region that is open to the world, to Europe, and particularly to the neighbouring Spanish autonomies. It is part of a Euroregion with Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, and Languedoc-Roussillon. It is also part of the Working Community of the Pyrénées, which gathers together the French and Spanish regions of the mountain range, as well as the Principality of Andorra.
