Cartoon Forum Catalunya resumes its activities
Cartoon Forum Catalunya resumes its activities with the presentation of 21 new projects. Besides, on Friday September 21st will be voted the last two categories of the Cartoon Tributes, the European Association of Animation Film’s recognition for companies’ contribution to the development of the European animation industry. The more than 800 participants of the Cartoon Forum will vote the Best Investor-Distributor of the Year and Best Broadcaster of the Year, on that day. The winners will be announced tomorrow at a ceremony in the Auditori de Girona.
Cartoon d’Or is prepared for a big night
The Teatre Municipal de Girona will be the framework of a new prize-giving ceremony of Cartoon d’Or, the only pan-European prize awarded to an animated film. This competition is exclusively reserved for winners of short film awards from one of Cartoon’s ten European partner festivals.
The five animation shorts finalists, selected from 27 candidates, are: Life Line, by Tomek Ducki (Hungary); Peter & the Wolf, by Suzie Templeton (UK); The Irresistible Smile, by Ami Lindhom (Finland); The Pearce Sisters, by Luis Cook (UK) and t.o.m., by Daniel Gray & Tom Brown (UK).
The Cartoon d'Or Night is sponsored by Televisió de Catalunya (TVC) and is organized with the support of the MEDIA Programme of the European Union.
